La Cañada Teachers are working harder than ever.  Class sizes have increased due to the reduction of FTE’s (Full Time Equivalent teachers).  In the 1999-2000 school year LCUSD employed 219.75 teachers and this year they only employ 196.37 FTE’s.  That is a reduction of over twenty-three teachers.  Calculating an average of twenty-one students per FTE, that should mean that we currently have 483 less students than we had in 2000. In fact, we have about 20 more students.
